late (over maturate) grape harvesting

Posted by LaPierre (Bulle, Switzerland) on 23 December 2007 in Landscape & Rural and Portfolio.

This is not the kind of picture I usually show here but I just wanted to share those two last days I spent in the Valais (a county in south Switzerland), helping friends to harvest one of the best wine in the world (not kidding)... ;-) Usually we harvest grapes until late September, but at this place for a little part of it, the grapes are left to dry on the stem of wine so that the sugar and flavor concentrate naturally.
So I lift my glass and wish you a merry Xmas and love, joy, success for 2008.
